Women Leadership in Digital Transformation
WLDT
WLDT
The Women Leadership in Digital Transformation (WLDT) initiative is a dedicated component of BRIDGE designed to promote women's participation and leadership in digital transformation and technology-driven sectors.
WLDT supports the wider BRIDGE objective of addressing gender disparity in STEM and encouraging greater participation of women in digital technology, engineering and innovation.
Leadership and Participation
The initiative will promote women-led efforts in capacity building, digital adoption and policy influence through targeted activities including workshops, conferences and outreach programmes.
A woman leader will be selected to drive the WLDT initiative and coordinate its activities in collaboration with project partners.
Supporting Women in Technology
WLDT will provide opportunities for women to engage with digital technologies and develop their technical and leadership capabilities.
The initiative will support:
- Capacity building for women
- Digital technology adoption
- Leadership development
- Technical training and mentorship
- Participation in BRIDGE Bootcamps
- Participation in Centers of Excellence
- Outreach and awareness activities
- Engagement with technology and STEM communities
Collaboration and Outreach
BRIDGE will collaborate with the IEEE Women in Engineering Pakistan chapter to strengthen local efforts supporting women in digital technology and engineering.
The initiative will also encourage women's participation in BRIDGE activities through targeted outreach, while connecting women with opportunities for learning, mentorship and leadership.
Creating Opportunities
WLDT is part of BRIDGE's broader commitment to inclusivity in higher education and digital transformation. Alongside the WLDT initiative, the project includes technology exposure workshops for school girls introducing areas such as AI, Robotics and Extended Reality, with particular attention to underserved communities.
Through these activities, BRIDGE seeks to encourage greater participation of women and girls in technology and create pathways toward future engagement in engineering, digital innovation and STEM careers.
